Sales Manager - Alpine Brands: Salewa, Dynafit, Pomoca

The Sales Manager is responsible for leading the specialty wholesale sales for the Salewa, Dynafit, and Pomoca brands in the United States and Canada, in coordination with the Sales and Marketing Director and the brands. The Sales Manager will lead a team of internal and external sales representatives and oversee the development of our specialty retail business for the two brands.


This position will execute the wholesale sales strategy for the local market, execute the local trade marketing plan, report regularly to key stakeholders, lead the communication to sales reps and retailers, optimize the product assortment, and drive growth. This position will be responsible for setting and achieving sales targets and contributing positive financial results to the overall North American business.
The Sales Manager will report to the Sales and Marketing Director and work cross-functionally with the local marketing team, customer service, and operations teams as well as international brand marketing to drive growth and development of the brands in the North American wholesale market.

 

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Execute a local go-to-market and sales strategy, including targets, in collaboration with the Sales and Marketing Director and brands
  • Oversee territory sales representatives; set goals, evaluate progress and drive growth
  • Support sales team with dealer relationships and meetings
  • Work with the Sales and Marketing Director to manage pricing strategies, sales terms and conditions, and monthly sales and margin results
  • Analyze the day-to-day performance of the wholesale channel, ensuring that KPIs are monitored, maintained and achieved; Routinely conduct sell-out analysis using available reporting; Report regularly to key stakeholders on sales results
  • Develop proficiency with the company’s business intelligence software to conduct sales reporting and analysis
  • Develop forecasts and understand and communicate product sales trends to support the purchasing process
  • Manage the obsolete inventory sales process to maximize revenue and minimize obsolete product on hand
  • Work closely with the dealer service team to ensure on-time fulfillment, a high level of service, and positive customer experience
  • Oversee and enforce the MAPP policy for the brands
  • Utilize the company’s Order Campaign Monitoring (OCM) tool for preorder campaign planning
  • Execute a local trade marketing plan that supports the sales effort and meets the brands’ marketing objectives in collaboration with the Marketing team and Sales and Marketing Director
  • Coordinate the trade marketing tactics – including dealer and consumer events, in-store merchandising, coop programs, and trade shows. Analyze results to determine effectiveness and inform future efforts

 

Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
  • Five years of wholesale sales leadership experience, preferably in the ski or outdoor industry
  • A practical working knowledge of trade marketing
  • Demonstrated people management experience
  • Ability to work in teams within an international environment in a complex matrix organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience in data-driven decision making

Salary range: $85,000 - $105,000 with bonus opportunity
