The Social Media Specialist will  drive and execute the company’s social media and athlete & creator/influencer strategy, that helps developing the brand awareness, growing and protecting the brand’s reputation, encouraging engagement and understanding in key priority areas and driving community engagement among our key audiences. 
This role coordinates with the internal Marketing, Communications, Creative, E-com and PR teams as well as agency partners to support their respective missions, ensuring consistency in voice and cultivating influential social media presence. As Social Media Specialist, the person will join the digital marketing team to support the Digital Marketing Manager for the execution of outstanding social media strategies for Salewa.

 

Tasks & responsibilties

  • Create, build and execute a unique and impactful social media strategy for Salewa, that brings the brand’s mission to life and supports business objectives.
  • Drive a creative content creation strategy that will build relevance, make the brand rise above and beyond its peers and connect with consumers in engaging and surprising ways.
  • Build a unique and compelling community of athletes, creators, and influencers that can punch above its weight through smart, creative and disruptive initiatives that build brand awareness and recognition in the mountain, sports and lifestyle spaces.  
  • Drive collaboration and integration of social media into communications strategies (organic and paid social).
  • Ensure consistency and evolution of Salewa’s tone of voice across social platforms
  • Work with the internal team and agencies to ensure social media tools are implemented effectively and strategically across platforms.
  • Be closely connected to athletes, events, and any outdoor activities to  create memorable social media moments and storytelling.
  • Execute strategic social media efforts and day-to-day activities across a team. Team duties include online advocacy, community-outreach efforts, promotions, issues monitoring, channel and campaign measurement etc.
  • Manage presence in social networking sites including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn and other similar community sites, posting on relevant blogs, and seeding content into social applications as needed.
  • Provide detailed analysis and regular feedback gained from social media monitoring to optimize campaigns as well as provide business insight for management on both social effectiveness, impacts and business relevance.
  • Monitor trends and implement best practices in social media tools, practices and applications.
  • Execute social media plans by organizing social media content, which includes publishing calendars, schedules, and approval workflows.
  • Management and development of social media assets (copy, graphics, video, etc.)
  • Collaborate with paid media teams for amplification strategies.

Profile

  • 3+ years of experience in Interactive Communications, Social Media Management, Social Media Public Relations, Online Content Management, Communities or Customer Support Programs (2+ specifically in social media area).
  • Experience and passion for mountain sports and a skillset across performance and lifestyle areas will be a great plus for this role. Please reference these elements in your application so the hiring team can be aware.

  • Strong writing skills by target audience, channel.
  • Handle multiple projects simultaneously while staying on deadline.
  • Balance communications and technology to define project needs and technical requirements.
  • Experience in managing agencies.
  • Project management and organizational skills are preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and their respective participants (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn etc.)
  • Experience in community management and direct customer interaction.
