Working for an international mountain sports brand, the Social Media & Digital Specialist plays an important role in translating athletes, outdoor experiences and brand initiatives into meaningful digital storytelling. The role contributes to the development and execution of the company’s social media strategy, helping to develop brand awareness, grow and protect UPS’s reputation, encourage engagement around key initiatives and drive community interaction among our core audiences. This role coordinates with the internal Marketing, Communications and PR teams to support their respective missions, ensuring consistency in tone of voice and strengthening the brand’s social presence across platforms. Working closely with the Digital Marketing Manager, the Social Media & Digital Specialist combines strong operational execution with the ability to propose ideas, suggest improvements, and actively support the evolution of the brand’s digital communication and social media strategy.
Given the cross-functional nature of digital communication, the role requires strong collaboration with different internal teams as well as external partners (es.agencies, athletes and creators).


Tasks & responsibilites

  • Drive collaboration and integration of social media into communications strategies (organic and paid social).
  • Implement the social media strategy, coordinating with stakeholders across the company to ensure effectiveness and encouraging / educating adoption of relevant social media techniques.
  • Work with the internal team and agencies to ensure social media tools are implemented effectively and strategically across platforms.
  • Support the planning and execution of broader digital marketing activities such as newsletter marketing and influencer initiatives.
  • Follow athletes, events, any outdoor activities that involve the social media performance and story telling.
  • Execute strategic social media efforts and day-to-day activities across a team. Team duties include online advocacy, community-outreach efforts, promotions, issues monitoring, channel and campaign measurement etc.
  • Manage the brand’s presence across key social platforms including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn and others, posting on relevant blogs, and seeding content into social applications as needed.
  • Coordinate the relation with Influencers and athletes and involve them in the digital communication strategy.
  • Provide detailed analysis and regular feedback gained from social media monitoring to optimize campaigns as well as provide business insight for management on both social effectiveness, impacts and business relevance.
  • Monitor trends in social media tools, practices and applications.
  • Execute social media plans by organizing social media content, which includes publishing calendars, schedules, and approval workflows.
  • Manage development of social media assets (copy, graphics, video, etc.)
  • Collaborate with paid media teams for amplification strategies.
  • Form and maintain authentic relationships with influencers and athletes in order to thoughtfully engage them in spreading Salewa messages; stay in regular communication with the influencer and athlete network.
  • Collaborate with other teams at Salewa including creative agencies, PR agency, and content creator in order to get the best material to use for any situation.
  • Define, monitor and report social media KPIs and performance dashboards aligned with business objectives.


Profile

  • Min. 3+ years of professional experience in social media, digital marketing or online communication roles.
  • Experience contributing to social media planning and execution within a brand or agency environment.
  • Strong writing skills by target audience, channel.
  • Handle multiple projects simultaneously while staying on deadline.
  • Balance communications and technology to define project needs and technical requirements.
  • Strong curiosity for digital culture, social trends and emerging platforms.
  • Agency experience or relevant experience managing agencies.
  • Project management and organizational skills are preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and their respective participants (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn etc.) and how they can be deployed in different scenarios.
  • Experience in community management and direct customer interaction.
  • Comfort working with different internal stakeholders and external partners in a collaborative environment.
  • Genuine interest in mountain sports and outdoor culture is highly appreciated and helps understanding the brand’s community and storytelling.
  • Proactive mindset and willingness to contribute ideas and improvements
