eCommerce Director (M/F)

The eCommerce Director will lead and optimize the digital retail presence for the company's iconic brands, driving strategy, execution, and performance of all eCommerce platforms. The role involves overseeing all aspects of the eCommerce business, including business planning, content strategy, and performance marketing investments. The eCommerce Director will manage a team of 10 people, including UX specialists, Product Owners, and Performance Marketing and eCommerce experts. Collaboration with IT and external partners will be key to developing and implementing effective website design and technological solutions. Additionally, the eCommerce Director will ensure seamless integration between brand storytelling and eCommerce functionality in collaboration with the digital communication teams. Acting as a Project Manager, the eCommerce Director will lead the company's omnichannel transformation initiative, strategizing, planning, and executing projects that integrate digital and physical customer experiences across all touchpoints.


Tasks & responsibilities
 

eCommerce Strategy & Performance

  • Develop and execute an eCommerce strategy across all  brand online shops, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Responsible for budget, planning and managing all Oberalp Online Sales reporting related activities
  • Drive growth, sales, and conversion optimization, leveraging data-driven insights and market trends.
  • Define and track KPIs, including revenue, inventory management, traffic, AOV, and customer retention.
  • Accountable for the MRA of the E-Commerce Sales channel
     

User Experience & Digital Optimization

  • Own the end-to-end user journey, ensuring a seamless, engaging, and conversion-friendly experience across web and mobile platforms.
  • Collaborate with UX designers, developers, and analysts to continuously improve site functionality, navigation, and personalization.
  • Product Ownership & Tech Development
  • Lead Product Owners in defining, prioritizing, and executing the digital product roadmap.
  • Work closely with IT, developers, and external partners to enhance platform capabilities, ensuring scalability and innovation.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with brand teams to ensure brand identity and storytelling are effectively translated into the online shopping experience. Collaborate with the Brands’ Digital Marketing and Communication teams to manage the online platforms with the correct content and product descriptions,
  • Liaise and cooperate closely with Retail and Wholesale sales organizations to align on pricing and promotional campaign initiatives.
  • Align with supply chain, operations, and customer operations teams to ensure seamless fulfillment and post-purchase support.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to maintain a competitive edge
     

As Project Manager for the  Omnichannel transformation initiative

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive omnichannel strategy, aligning with business goals.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to integrate online, wholesale, and in-store experiences.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and risk assessments to ensure successful implementation.
  • Oversee technology adoption, including CRM, e-commerce, and AI-driven personalization tools.
  • Track KPIs and customer insights to continuously improve the omnichannel experience
     

Profile

  • 8-10 years of eCommerce leadership experience, preferably in a multi-brand or outdoor/sportswear industry
  • University degree in the field of economics, digital, marketing, or similar
  • Deep understanding of eCommerce platforms, UX/UI, digital marketing, and conversion optimization.
  • Strong experience in Product Ownership and working with IT & development teams on digital solutions.
  • Data-driven mindset with expertise in Google Analytics, CRO tools, and performance tracking.
  • Leadership and collaboration skills to drive cross-functional initiatives and manage external partners.
  • Proven track record in online sales of sporting/consumer goods with an international scope
  • Proven experience in project management, preferably in retail, e-commerce, or digital transformation.
  • Expertise in Agile, Scrum, or other project management methodologies
  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in English (Italian and/or German language skills are advantageous)
  • Passion for outdoor sports is a big plus
  • Proven active budget responsibility and KPI management
