Product Developer, Technical Hardware (M/F)

As Technical Hardware Developer you will be responsible for designing and engineering new products within the category with focus on innovation and performance. 
The products in this category are mainly certified PPE suitable for mountaineering and climbing such as carabiners, helmets, crampons, ice axes and different types of climbing protection gear.
You will manage the entire development process cooperating closely with Certification Specialist, Product Manager, Quality, Key Users and Vendors.


Tasks and responsibilities
•    Design and engineer new products and solutions 
•    Cooperate with Innovation department to analyze new solution proposals
•    Be the technical interface with Designers
•    3D modelling of the products with CAD software (Siemens NX or Solidworks)
•    Executive 2D drawings for production
•    Manage prototyping process
•    Preliminary functional testing on developed devices
•    Prepare technical documentation for production and Quality Control
•    FMEA analysis in cooperation with Quality and Supplier technicians
•    Interface with the suppliers during product development (suppliers can be located in Europe and Far east)
•    Supervise preliminary laboratory test and field test
•    Modify and adapt products in case of feedback during test
•    Support Certification Engineer to achieve CE, UIAA marking of the new develop products
•    Support carry over product maintenance (upgrade to new standards, product’s revamp)


•    Degree in engineering field
•    At least 3 years’ experience in developing hardware products
•    Good understanding main mechanical industrial processes 
•    Knowledge of main polymer and ferrous materials
•    Demonstrated knowledge of main 3D modelling software
•    Mountaineering and outdoor sport knowledge
•    Very good Italian and English; German a plus
•    Good coordination and team work skill
•    Availability to travel
